Spring is coming!

I don't know about you, but I am soooo enjoying the Spring-like weather we have been having in Middle Tennessee! I'd like to think we've seen the last of old man winter, but it's only mid-february. I am eagerly awaiting signs that Spring is really here - usually it's when my daffodils start popping up! They grow wild in the fields by our property and I love to see them pop up in bunches everywhere!
The Spring-like weather is inspiring me to design and sew, and I have so many ideas rolling in my head! I know I have more ideas than time, but I can at least make a list of those ideas and work on them as time allows. Speaking of designs, Brer Rabbit is thrilled with the response to his new ePattern, 'lil britches". If you haven't entered to win, hop on over here and enter the giveaway!
With the coming of Spring, there are also new ideas springing up for different style ideas for use with my patterns. These will be shared on Brer Rabbit's Blog very soon. There are also new things popping up at my website too! Please take time to go to Brer Rabbit Designs and see what is new! I also have a poll that I would love for you to participate in - it will help me to know what kinds of items my customers would like to see offered at BRD!
Did you know that BRD offers Ready-to-sew kits?
and Ready-to-Smock kits!
There's "sew" much more, so please stop by
and visit

'lil britches

Spring has sprung and a new pattern has arrived
at
Brer Rabbit Designs!
Brer Rabbit has had some wonderful feedback on this pattern and many have been eagerly awaiting for it's release. 'lil britches is perfect for Spring and Summer and there are so many fun options included in the instructions!
'lil britches is a multi-sized and multi-styled pattern. Everything that you see hanging on the clothesline can be made with this one ePattern! By the way, all the printed fabrics in my samples came from Fairytale Frocks and Lollipops! I think those lime green pants are my favorite!
Included in the ePattern is bloomers, shorts,
pants and even a ruffled skirt!
The ruffle butt bloomers & bo-peep bloomers
are a true classic design!
Here are two options for the pants.
Classic or Trendy and more
options are listed within the
pattern instructions!
Ruffle-butt bloomers - make them
classic or make them fun! You can
even make them without ruffles
and add your own monogram
or applique!
A ruffle skirt with bloomers attached
and ruffled shorts add to the
fun of this great pattern!
For more information and to order, please visit Brer Rabbit Designs! Please take time to look around - new things are popping up on the website that I will blog about soon!

Sweet & Simple & a giveaway!

Today, I am very honored to be featured at Seventh Smith. If you haven't been to Mandy's Blog, you should check it out. Every friday she offers some pretty neat Fabulous Friday Freebies! You can also find her on facebook
Mandy has a baby due to be born very soon - in fact, she's concerned that she might arrive a bit early, so I made her this sweet little preemie daygown.
The pattern I used is Anna & Andrew Baby Dress & Day Gowns by Bonnie Blue Patterns. The pattern features dress and day gowns with button closed backs for easy to dress styles. Five sleeve variations include heirloom techniques and are available short or long sleeved. A slip pattern and embroidery designs are also included.
If you would like to order this pattern, please email me. The pattern is $12.00, plus shipping.
I am working on adding sewing supplies both to Brer Rabbit Designs & Southern StitchesThere are already some kits available at BRD, so check them out!
 I used white batiste fabric.
The back of the day gown buttons, making it
easy to dress baby - soooo precious!
There are several sleeve variations.
I chose to make a short puffed sleeve with edging.
I used the same precious edging around the neck.
The front of the dress has machine shadow work embroidery,
Close up of machine shadow work.
It really does look like hand work!
The shadow work designs are combined from two Brer Rabbit Designs sets - Shadow Work Script Monogram and Shadow Work Bows & Bouquets. My machine shadow work designs are soooo easy to do and the results give that added hand-embroidered look to a garment.
A GIVEAWAY!
Please take time to visit Fabulous Friday Freebies and enter to win a $25 gift certificate that you can use at either Brer Rabbit Designs or Southern Stitches!
